Brisbane’s Christmas party season fills up faster than most people expect. By the second week of November the good Friday nights have gone, and whoever drew the short straw on organising it is ringing around venues that can only offer a Tuesday in early December. If that person is you, here’s a plan that takes about ten minutes to sort out.

Start with what your team actually wants

Every year the same feedback comes back from office Christmas parties: the food was fine, the room was loud, and half the team left after an hour. The problem usually isn’t the venue – it’s that a long table and a drinks tab asks people to entertain themselves.

Give a group something to do together and the night runs itself. People who sit at opposite ends of the office end up shouting clues at each other, the quiet ones turn out to be the best at codes, and everybody has the same story to tell on Monday.

Escape room Christmas parties in West End

Our in-venue Christmas parties put your team head-to-head across multiple rooms to see who escapes first. There are two packages:

  • Single Game – one escape game, 10 to 46 people, about 2 hours, $49 per person including GST.
  • Double Game – two escape games, 10 to 46 people, about 3 hours, $85 per person including GST.

Both include 30 minutes in our private event space, soft drinks for the team, a photoshoot, and BYO alcohol with a fridge provided. You can order catering in, or walk two minutes and eat anywhere on Boundary Street afterwards – which is half the reason teams pick West End in the first place.

Groups over 46 are not a problem. Give us a call on 0494 165 177 and we’ll work out the staggered start times.

Which game suits which team

If you’re booking for people who have never done an escape room, don’t overthink it. Every one of our Brisbane escape rooms is designed so a first-timer can contribute in the first five minutes.

For a mixed group of all ages

Aladdin & The Magic Vault and Alice in Puzzleland are bright, physical and full of surprises. Good for teams with a wide age range, or where partners and family are coming along.

For the competitive team

The Jewel Thief and Bomb at Government House reward people who divide and conquer. Run two rooms side by side and the results get talked about for months.

For the team that wants a story

Our Finest Hour and Blackbeard’s Treasure are the ones people describe to their friends afterwards. Slower burn, bigger payoff.

If the whole team can’t be in one place

Plenty of Brisbane teams are split across offices, sites or home desks by December. Two options work well:

  • Outdoor adventures – the game runs on your phone and sends teams out into the city, so the group size isn’t limited by how many people fit in a room.
  • Remote digital adventures – hosted over Zoom, so the Sydney office and the person working from Toowoomba are in the same game as everyone else.

A running order that works

The parties that go best tend to follow the same shape:

  1. 5:30pm – arrive, drinks in the private event space, teams announced.
  2. 6:00pm – into the rooms. 60 minutes, no phones, everyone involved.
  3. 7:15pm – photos, results, the obligatory speech about who nearly solved it.
  4. 7:45pm – dinner. Either catering in, or straight out into West End.

That gets the awkward first hour out of the way before anyone has to make small talk over an entree.

Booking tips for December in Brisbane

  • Book by mid-October for a Friday or Saturday in December. Thursdays hold on a little longer.
  • Confirm numbers late, book early. Reserve the slot on your best estimate – it’s easier to adjust the headcount than to find another Friday.
  • Weekday afternoons are the value play. A Wednesday finish-early party costs less and everyone still gets home at a reasonable hour.
  • Tell us about the group. Mobility needs, a nervous first-timer, someone who has done the room before – we’ll put the teams together properly if we know.

Sorting it out

Download the corporate events pack for the full detail, or send us an enquiry with your date, rough numbers and budget. Our events team will come back with availability and a couple of options, usually the same day.

Or just call 0494 165 177 and we’ll talk it through. It genuinely takes about ten minutes.
