Escape Hunt is the global leader in escape rooms which is becoming a significant trend at the heart of the leisure and entertainment industry. Through its franchise partners, Escape Hunt operates 250 rooms in 50 cities around the world. In the last 18 months, Escape Hunt has opened 14 new owned and operated sites in the UK with approximately 60 rooms with a further 5 sites planned for UK in 2021.

Experiential entertainment and leisure activities have been evolving over recent years: the explosion in breakout or escape room games being one of the most recent and significant developments. Escape Hunt operates in an increasingly competitive, but fragmented market with relatively few established players in which the majority of venues are run by small local operators. With growing awareness and demand and an almost unlimited customer base spanning families, students, young professionals and corporates, the potential for a professionally run, well- capitalised global organisation is significant. In May 2017, Escape Hunt became the first “escape room” company to list on the London Stock Exchange, marking the growing popularity of this leisure activity among consumers and businesses. With its ambition set much more broadly to become the leading experiential entertainment company, the business is already experimenting with new game formats. From Virtual Reality to Augmented Reality outdoor games, Escape Hunt immersive adventures can take you beyond the room and deliver teambuilding events of significant scale, anytime, anywhere.

Escape Hunt has built a strong leadership team and with new owned & operated businesses recently launched in the UK, it has now identified the need to upscale its marketing resource to support the drive for growth on a global capacity.


Key responsibilities:

  • Support Marketing Manager on:
    • Strategic development of the Escape Hunt brand and its identity
    • B2B marketing goals, strategies and tactics that deliver against the UK business objectives for commercial sales with specific focus on PR
    • B2C marketing goals, strategies and tactics that deliver against the UK business objectives for consumer sales with specific focus on PR
  • Lead the PR resource to create strong national and regional relationships where PR ideation can be explored, created and executed
PR specific
  • Regular maintenance and growth of media and social influencer contact lists
  • Develop B2B PR strategy for increased exposure and presence in trade publications
  • Build strong relationships with Escape Hunt’s target national and regional press and liaise on a daily basis, via telephone and email – with face-to-face opportunities at each site where possible
  • Build up on existing influencer relationships and build an excited, engaged and involved fanbase
  • Monitor the media, including newspapers, magazines, broadcast, newswires, social media sites and blogs, in order to identify Escape Hunt opportunities
  • Create internal communications strategy and roll out across O&O sites on an ongoing basis
  • Develop campaigns and implement PR activity
  • Explore and write thought leadership content for Escape Hunt Team Fuel B2B blog
  • Collate and evaluate press coverage in order to prepare internal PR reports
  • Research, write and distribute press releases and other media materials to targeted press
  • Sell-in news stories and features directly to the media
  • Manage events, including sites / game launches and stunt activity and relationships with external agencies and company contacts (including nurturing and developing our relationship with shopping centres)
  • Track budget and issue purchase orders as required


To be considered for this role:

You must have:
  • Passion building relationships with both B2C and B2B press and influencers
  • Creative ideation to build relevant and enticing PR content
  • Skills in writing playful, engaging entertaining copy for different audiences
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Attention to detail and strong organisation skills
  • Results-driven acumen; always thinking of ways to improve and innovate
  • Self-motivated and proactive attitude; not afraid to get stuck in and get stuff done
Ideally you would have:
  • 2/3+ years experiencing creating and implementing PR campaigns alongside other core channels
  • Experience in marketing campaigns and passion to develop skills further
  • Experience managing communities and building strong relationships with online communities, influencers and media.
  • Experience in media / entertainment field preferable
