Remote Escape Rooms

What is a Remote Escape Room?

Remote play allows friends, family and colleagues to come together and play Escape Hunt’s physical escape rooms from their own homes. You will play the game using Zoom, a free, secure online video conferencing system. During the game, you will control a real life avatar using verbal commands. What they see is what you will see. You will use verbal commands to move them around the room, find hidden clues, solve puzzles, and see if you can escape before time runs out!

How long does the game last?

The whole experience lasts around 70 minutes. Exactly like in our physical rooms, you’ll spend around 60 minutes instructing the avatar in the room (in fact that’s the maximum time you’ve got in which to escape). Before that there’s a quick briefing to explain everything. We advise that you join your Zoom call at least 5 minutes before your scheduled booking time to make sure your microphone and camera are working.

What do I need to play a Remote Escape Room?

You will need an internet connection and a desktop/laptop device (phones/tablets can be used, but are not recommended due to screen size). You will need to download Zoom ahead of your slot and we also advise that you have some paper and pen on hand to jot down notes of things you might spot in the room along the way!

Do players have to be in one household?

Not at all! All players can be in the same household using the same device or players can be in different households each dialling into the Zoom call on different devices.
